As an active facilitator of cultural exchange, John has organized tours in the United States for several ensembles, notably:
- Sakhioba Ensemble (2012)
- Zedashe Folk Ensemble (2007)
- Anchiskhati Church Choir (2005)
John also leads private tours in Georgia, including the annual Monastery Tour.
John lectures regularly on topics relating to the history and revival of Georgian sacred music, and is writing a Ph.D. dissertation titled, Sacred Polyphony: the Transcription and Transmission of Georgian Liturgical Chant.
