Saving a Treasure: the Digital Transcription of Georgian Orthodox Chant

The main objective of the proposed project is to protect and revive the musical heritage of Georgian, specifically a large number of manuscripts containing Georgian liturgical chant. The applicants intend to digitize these manuscripts into digital notation, and provide it in a viable format for practical study by professionals and scholars. The practical revival of this music must be follow a standard progression from archives to digitalization, to print media and audio recordings. Please consider supporting this important initiative.
